That said I want to tell you a little about myself. My name is Hrafnhildur Jóna. I know! It´s not an easy name for you but born in Iceland I got this strong Icelandic name, named after my dearest grandma. I was raised in Húsavík, a small town up in the northern Iceland where I met my husband to be who was visiting there. After a few good years in Húsavík we moved to my husband’s hometown, Grundarfjörður in Snæfellsnes West Iceland where we started our family.

Life went on raising kids and working, painting and all sorts of things for a few years. All my life have I been interested in art and handcrafts, so stay at home mum was really not my thing. Over the years I have learned painting, carving, sewing and decorations of all sorts and started early on to go around computers, specially using graphic designing tools within. So having said that I can say that my interests in Photoshop started as early as Photoshop 5 if somebody still remembers that?

After a few years of doing all sorts of graphic things for family and friends the opportunity came to me to buy the local newspaper in Grundarfjörður. That is where things started to roll. Since then I have taking lessons in graphic design on the internet and at school but mostly am I self thought. Soon after I started working at the paper I realized there was an opportunity for expanding the service, giving people more graphic designing work in Ads and so on. After a few years I found myself wanting something more out of this graphic/not graphic thing so in the summer of 2007 the whole family packed all our stuff in a container and moved to Aalborg, Denmark. I went to graphic designing school, graduating as a Graphic design technician in the spring 2009.

Oh! Also, I still have my little company up and running while attending school, publishing the local newspaper every week, doing all kinds of graphic design work for my good costumers. Thanks to the internet, whom I just love, almost everything is possible now a days, even running a little paper in Iceland from my little office in Denmark.
